Does the other person need the app?
Yes. Both people install ShakTalk. When you start a call, you can send the invite link on WhatsApp; tapping it opens the call in the app, or takes your partner to the store to install it first.
How fast is the translation?
Translation starts while the speaker is still talking, usually within one to two seconds, depending on the network and the languages.
How accurate is it?
ShakTalk uses advanced AI speech translation and is accurate for everyday and business conversation. Like any AI, it can make mistakes, so check important figures on screen and don't rely on it alone for medical, legal or emergency situations.
Does it work with headphones and Bluetooth?
Yes. Use the loudspeaker, the earpiece, wired earphones or a Bluetooth headset. Headphones give the clearest result in noisy places.
What happens to my voice and transcripts?
Your voice is processed live to produce the translation. Text transcripts are saved to your conversation history; in Turn-by-Turn mode, audio recordings are also saved so you can replay them. You can delete your account and data at any time. See our Privacy Policy.
